Wow guys she is gorgeous!!! What a beauty. I do belive you should keep the name Lily suggested. It is her baby after all and if she thinks in terms of names thats the one she will be using.
Looking for the actual spelling and tongue.
Oh why not go ask Lily what language/tongue the name comes from> Be she knows.
;)S
Well if that is what Lily has choosen….
I was thinking of Lillyfilly
I would name her Aphrodite’s Dawn Pleasure (looks like she’s going to be a truly special filly)
Coil, that is an amazing name! How did you think of it and what is the association? I love the “Dawn” as this is my father’s wife’s name. She would be pleased.
I agree - she is a truly special filly. She looks at you while you quietly speak to her, and she pays 100% attention, seemingly understanding every word. This filly is here for a special reason and has true purpose. I am so relieved she is here and excited to share her life with her.
I’m so curious to know about the name Lily gave her. I wish we could track it down!
My suggestion is you register under the name Lily gave her and then use a different name for her everyday. I really like the name Dawn as she was born early in the morning… maybe something like Paisano’s Dawn would work too.
Simrat and I agree, Amanda. It is respectful and the right thing to do. Simrat, Susan and Bridget came up with the following spelling: Oko-Ohn-Sipa. I found similar sounding words in a Blackfoot dictionary (one word meaning “black” and one meaning “yellow,” which would signify her mane and tail actually - kind of cool), but this does not mean Beautiful One, although it totally makes her beautiful. I have been calling her Lily Filly for so long that I need to change the name quickly or it will stick! We really like the name Lidia and found a Chilean woman whose name is Lidia and who was called Lily growing up. This seems really sweet.
Margarita de los Prados….Daisy of the Meadows! Because she was born on a field of Daisy. (….my favorite flower, next to “Lily of the valley” Congrats she is special!!
I agree with the others that it would be respectful (and a conversation starter!) to name her Lily’s name, but call her something else for everyday..I would love to know the meaning of that word!!! My suggestion for a regular name? Choctaw Dawn ;~D
She is very pretty and sweet!! Congratulations - She is going to be a special horse for you!
