We Have a Name!

Five days old and a name is chosen: Margarita de los Prados (Daisy of the Grasslands) in honor of her mother, Lily.  Lily of the Valley is not Lily’s actual name, but the correlation works so well.  Margarita’s first photos within hours of her birth were taken with her lying in the daisies.  She now nibbles on and plays in the daisies in her meadow.  Thank you, Anne-Marie.  Her name is absolutely perfect.

We will register Margarita with the name Lily gave her through Bridget Pilloud: AR Oko-Ohn-Sipa.

Lovely… I wonder how long she will keep that curly coat? It looks like she has gotten pretty friendly. :)

Simrat, her coat is soft as velvet and wavy. She is luxurious girl! And she has become very outgoing and friendly. She still waits for Lily’s green light (most of the times), but has gotten so accustomed to derriere scratches, full body checks, and fly spray that sometimes Lily has to reprimand us both for being separated from her for too long. Lily is an amazing mother.

Anne-Marie, you and Simrat can both be her God Mothers, unless Simrat declines. Yes, naming her makes you her God Mother; I already told her that.

Chris, Lily said the name means Beautiful One. I found translations in a Blackfoot dictionary that are not exact, but one of the words resembles “black” and another resembles “yellow,” both very closely. That would describe her mane and tail perfectly.

Kathy, she is so adorable and precious, and the name fits her perfectly. You must come back and meet her.

Thank you all for the support, input, and continued visits to our blog. Keep coming back!
